Reverse Engineering Amazon — The Most “Wanted” Shopping App
I chose for this challenge my most favorite shopping app-Amazon. I think that even during COVID-19 times it’s easier to work with the Amazon shopping app, easy to shop, easy to buy, and without leaving the comfort of our home. Maybe Zalando rules the German market, but Amazon has the full package with the best customer service and the fun and easiest shopping experience. So let’s break down the app and understand what it’s made off!
Amazon-Simple And Fun!
Once I took off the skin, I saw that the homepage is very simple and elegant. I am using the app very often and now I understand why the Amazon app is so easy to use.
The homepage screen of the app shows you the deals of the day, the search tab is big and well centered in the middle of the app. Once I typed what I chose to search (in this case baby shoes) I could see all my recent search history. The next tab is the search results where I can see the “Amazon deals” and recommended deals highlighted. Once I chose what I want to buy it was easy to swipe and buy!
Amazon-The Extra Mile For The Customer
- Return Policy-Amazon by far has dominated this. You can return the item during the next 30 days from the day of the purchase in every DHL/Hermes/UPS stop. Just to compare, when someone is going to Zara, H&M, Mango, Deichman, the return policy is 14 days and in some cases even less.
- Amazon Prime-faster deliveries and even same-day deliveries.
- Amazon Prime Wardrobe-try before you buy. You try at home what you think to buy, try it for 7 days, keep what you want to purchase and return the rest. It saves you time and you don’t even need to leave the comfort of your home! it’s sweet, it’s easy and it’s fun!
- Great Customer Service-I have had a few experiences with Amazon customer service and each time my wishes were their command and I was happy.
Purchase With A Swipe
Overall, an interesting app, well-shaped, and well designed. Easy to log in, easy to search, easy to use, and especially easy to buy;-)
